Comparison FAQ

Can I run Light Lane alongside my current software?

Yes. Light Lane is a separate desktop app. Install it, connect your laser, and test without removing anything. Only one app can hold the serial port at a time, so close the other before connecting in Light Lane.

Does Light Lane import LightBurn or RDWorks project files?

No. Light Lane does not import LightBurn (.lbrn2), RDWorks, or LaserGRBL files. Import your artwork as PNG, JPEG, BMP, or SVG and set up the job from scratch.

Is Light Lane free?

The 14-day trial is free with full Pro access. After that, Maker is $12/month and Pro is $24/month. There is no permanent free tier.

How is Light Lane's pricing different from LightBurn?

LightBurn is a one-time purchase (around $60). Light Lane is a monthly subscription: $12/month for Maker, $24/month for Pro. The 14-day trial lets you compare features before committing.

What controllers does Light Lane support?
